About us

Built by boat people, for the harbours we visit.

PortPoint is a Swedish platform that lets the guest pay the harbour, campsite or parking fee on their phone – and lets whoever runs the site see the money, the occupancy and the inspection round without chasing envelopes. We started because we had stood on the jetty ourselves, wondering where the money was supposed to go.

How it started

A summer evening, an envelope and a letterbox.

PortPoint was born on a perfectly ordinary evening in a guest harbour on the Swedish west coast. The harbour host had gone home, the fee was to go in an envelope in the letterbox by the service building, and nobody knew whether the berth was actually free or whether the shower code was right. The next day the same harbour host sat with a pile of envelopes, a cash book and a list of boats that had left without paying.

We thought it had to be possible to make this simpler – for the guest who wants to do the right thing, and for the volunteers, municipalities and family businesses that keep harbours and campsites open. So we built it: a payment that takes a moment, a map that shows where you may moor, a receipt that is the ticket and an inspection round handled from an ordinary phone.

Since then the platform has grown with what sites actually ask for: advance booking with a waiting list, electricity and extras on the same receipt, seasonal berths and leases, car parks with hourly rates – and the documentation a municipality needs in order to procure us.

What we believe in

Four things we do not compromise on.

The money goes straight to the site

Every Swish and card payment lands in the harbour's or campsite's own account. We are the technical provider and never touch the funds – there is no money held with us to wait for, and no settlements to chase.

No app to download

The guest who moors at eleven at night should be able to pay in a moment in the browser. Anyone who wants to can save PortPoint to the home screen – then the receipt works even when the coverage disappears behind the island.

Openness before promises

The service status is public with 90 days of history, the security page lists sub-processors and routines, and the accessibility statement says what works and what does not yet. We would rather say how things are than how we would like them to sound.

Built in Sweden, for Swedish conditions

Data is stored in Stockholm, payment is made with Swish, card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Vipps, and the price list gets to look the way it really does: per boat length, season, night or week – with electricity and sauna as extras.

Where we stand today

We are new – and we say so.

The platform is built, payments run through Swish and Stripe, and we are now taking on the first harbours and campsites. We would rather have a few sites where everything really works than many that have to wait for answers.

It also means that whoever joins now gets to help shape the tool. If something you need before the season is missing, we build it – and what you see on the site is what the code actually does, not what we hope it will do in a year.

Who we are

A small team that answers in person.

PortPoint is developed by a small team in Sweden: boat owners, developers and people who have stood in a harbour kiosk on a July morning themselves. We have no call centre. If you email us, one of us replies, usually the same day – the same people who built what you are asking about.

If you want to know how we handle data, what happens in an incident or how the service is doing right now, it is all open here (in Swedish):
